Call for Abstracts

  1. The Call for Abstracts for the Undergraduate Education for Public Health Summit is now open. This event is co-sponsored by the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U). The Undergraduate Summit is all-day on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, in New Orleans, LA.

  2. General Submission Information

    This submission system is designed to collect abstracts for workshop, oral, and poster sessions for the Undergraduate Education for Public Health Summit.

    Submission Deadline

    Abstracts are due Tuesday, May 27, 2014 by 11:59 p.m. Pacific.

    Abstract Notification

    All authors will be notified via email of abstract status by Friday, June 27, 2014. To receive notification, please make sure your email address is correct and up-to-date.

    Registration and Membership

    Academicians, public health professionals, and undergraduate public health students and recent alumni are invited to submit abstracts. NOTE: if your abstract is accepted for presentation, the presenting author MUST register for the Summit. More details on registration, including fees, are available here. Membership is not required to submit an abstract or to register.

    Abstract Requirements

    • Abstracts must be submitted to a specific topic area.
    • You may submit more than one abstract but you may NOT submit the same abstract to more than one topic.
    • In total, the abstract text may contain up to but not more than 300 words. No images, charts, or tables are allowed.
    • All workshop and oral presentation abstracts must have at least one but not more than three learning objectives.
    • All abstracts must be non-sales or marketing oriented.
    • No fees are required to submit an abstract; however, if your abstract is accepted for presentation, the presenting author MUST register for the Summit.
    • Your abstract will not be reviewed/accepted if all steps of the abstract submission process are not completed.

    Submission Instructions

    • First click the "Begin a Submission" link at the bottom of this page.
    • Then select a topic area.
    • ASPPH suggests that abstracts be developed off-line before accessing the online submission form. Use the spell check and word count features of your word processor to check the text of the abstract before submitting it.
    • Three types of sessions will be presented at the Undergraduate Summit: Workshop, Oral, and Poster. Individuals may submit as either a Workshop, Oral, or Poster or indicate no preference. Workshop and Oral presentations will be placed in theater style sessions.

    All Workshop/Oral session rooms will be equipped with an LCD projector, computer and screen. Internet and video capabilities are NOT included.
