Description: The use of large data sets to solve critical research and operational issues and to advance the nation’s economic and technological competiveness has been widely discussed in both scientific and policy circles. This session will discuss how the use of large data sets has the potential to bring both information and wisdom to public health practice and research. The two speakers will focus on big data and health system/health care research and big data regarding the social determinants of health.
