This session will introduce faculty to the course in Health Communication and provide teaching strategies and materials that can be used in meeting many of the CEPH standards for the accreditation of undergraduate Public Health programs.  Heath Communication is an interdisciplinary field that includes topics such as the history of medicine, patient-provider communication, diversity, intercultural communication in the field of health, social support, telemedicine, and introduction to health care administration, health care policy and reform, and planning and implementing health promotion campaigns.  After a discussion of the syllabus and objectives for the course, several assignments that meet specific CEPH objectives will be explained and discussed.  Example assignments include a media analysis of health messages, a health care reform debate, and a health campaign assignment.
