MPB12 Educational Competencies to Promote Health for Older Populations

Monday, March 21, 2016: 4:15 PM-5:15 PM
Salon K (Crystal Gateway Marriott)
Description: Successes in public health have added 30 years to life expectancy globally since 1950.  Understanding evidence of malleability in later years, we have the opportunity, through science, education and practice, to add health to these additional years, and to optimize the balance between promoting health and providing care to persons in need.  Schools of public health have important roles and the obligation to address missed opportunities to focus on health of aging populations through targeted research, relevant curricula, and practice.
