Description: This session will discuss health disparities and inequities and the impact on health care.  One reason the US lags behind in most measures of health is due to the disproportionate burden of illness, premature death, and disabilitity that affects racial and ethnic minority population groups and other underserved populations.  The speakers will discuss strategies to move to action and the role for academic public health to reduce disparities and inequities.
