MPB06 How Academia Can Support Governmental Public Health Agencies Through Training

Description: This session will examine the role of CEPH accredited schools and programs of public health in providing support to governmental public health agencies through training, specifically examining training provided by the CDC-funded Preparedenss and Emergency Response Learning Centers (PERLC) and Preparedness and Emergency Response Research Centers (PERRC).  Speakers will examine perceived barriers and factors associated with level of engagement of core public health preparedness and response competency frameworks versus the focus on capabilities within governmental public health agencies.  Discussion will focus on innovative strategies and exploration of how academia can support practice in the work that they do.
