Description: This session will discuss how fundamental biomedical research can continue to benefit public health, even in times of research funding austerity.  The speakers will discuss how public health professionals can help suggest avenues of fundamental research that will address public health challenges. The possibilities of interprofessional educational opportunities engaging basic science graduate students and public health students will also be explored.
